It was just a month ago, that former Donald Trump attorney Jenna Ellis was raising money for her defense fund as she fought charges of illegally trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election. She had a helpful graphic, a widely distributed mugshot in which she could be seen smiling. It quickly was dubbed “Mugshot Barbie.”

Tuesday in a turn of fate, Ellis tearfully apologized before a Georgia court after she pleaded guilty as part of a deal that should spare her jail time. The sentence includes five years of probation, a $5,000 fine, volunteer service and that she testify truthfully at other related legal proceedings.
It was quite a departure from her days of bragging of her role in a legal “elite strike force team.”
Tuesday, Ellis blamed her reliance on other lawyers with more experience than hers.
The move follows Kraken-attorney Sidney Powell’s guilty plea last week. Trump responded by accusing Powell of never having been his lawyer.
The number of former Trump aides who have pleaded guilty has been growing. Ellis is the fourth to plead guilty in this Georgia case against Trump. As her day in court neared, Ellis began to describe Trump’s "malignant, narcissistic tendency to simply say that he's never done anything wrong."
It might be easy to dismiss Ellis as an opportunist who was ready to deceive the country for a few minutes of fame — until she walked into reality. That applies here.
What does Trump’s post-2020 legal team say about Trump? He’s tapped Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Ellis to craft — if that is the word — his legal arguments. They’re not a legal dream team, they’re a clown car. Trump could do better, but he lacks the focus. He’s just not serious, because he thinks he doesn’t have to be.

I sympathize with them. I know of someone who was in Arizona watching election fraud going on before his eyes (he was with Lawyers for Trump) and after that he no longer trusts the electoral process. I quit trusting it after Bush v, Gore when the SCOTUS got involved. If you were to read "Rigged" by Mollie Hemingway, this has been going on since our republic was founded. The Democratic Party likes to take advantage of the electorate's ignorance--the Burton Brothers were masters of it - they started the slate mailers so you didn't have to think, you voted the slate. They also prey on people's emotions - having them completely ignore any facts.
