There have been countless books written about the Trump White House – insider accounts of palace intrigues based on whichever self-serving leaker had the ear of a well-known author.
And rushed hard-covers written by newly exiting staffers looking to cash in and preserve what’s left of their ravaged reputations.
You won’t get that here.
This podcast is not about what one chief of staff said about an administration rival or detailed accounts of heated arguments between Donald Trump and key aides in the West Wing.
It’s about what it was like to cover the Trump White House. It’s an explainer about the conventions of the White House press corps, the posturing you see and don’t see, the logistics of covering a president – the daily grind and the occasional magic.
I’ll walk you past Pebble Beach — the row of tent-covered TV cameras on the North Law where correspondents deliver news of the day — and guide you through the 49-seat briefing room, the Oval Office, the Rose Garden, and travel on Air Force One, as well as overseas trips, riding in motorcades, and covering Marine One arrivals and departures.
You’ll learn about what it was like to be there and what goes into covering the world’s biggest story for four years.
Here’s the trailer.
The first episode drops on June 14 and every Tuesday thereafter. You can find it on your favorite podcast platforms.
